POSITION OVERVIEW: The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Partnerships and Marketing team seeks a live event content manager to lead the research, conception, and speaker bookings for production, and delivery of exciting, highly visible, forward-looking programs focused on ideas and innovations that impact business. The successful candidate will be a huge force in developing content and recruiting speakers for our programs (15-20 per year), leading research and composing agendas, and working with our marketing team to craft high-profile packaging of these initiatives. Key responsibilities will include contributing to the growth, development, and execution of a wide range of events and programs, ranging in size from intimate dinners to large-scale, multiday events in the DC-area and throughout the country.


  • Mastermind and manage the development of the Chamber’s most impactful events, leading all aspects of content and speaker acquisition.

  • Partner with senior colleagues to develop and execute live programs through topic generation, expert speaker identification, program format options, moderator preparation, and speaker pre-interviews.

  • Oversee each production in portfolio from start to finish, working alongside the events operations team, and, on-site, stage produce the live event.

  • Handle the day to day communications with clients, internal executives, and external partners.

  • Map out emerging issues and innovations, and identify startups and companies to engage and invite to speak. Connect disparate information and ideas into on-point agendas for programs.

  • Devise other areas of content development, future program strategy, and multimedia productions that generate buzz.

  • Be a generous and entrepreneurial leader and contribute to other areas of team programs such as stage creative, audience marketing, and new product development.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ related experience in content development, communications, or in a media or agency environment, preferable in a high-velocity, bottom-line focused industry; strong writer and copy editor with exceptional written and verbal communications skills; enthusiasm for current events and able to track future trends; passionate about business innovation and knowledgeable about issues impacting the business community; able to establish strong professional relationships with flexibility and conscientiousness; and up to date on the latest trends in conference and event production.
